A father and son in Hay River, N.W.T., are facing drug charges after police seized crack cocaine and marijuana from two homes on Thursday night.

At about 8 p.m., RCMP executed two search warrants in Hay River, during which they found 1.4 kilograms of marijuana, 100 grams of crack cocaine, cash and drug paraphernalia.

Antonio Mennillo, 26, and his father, Christian Girard, 55, have been charged with "numerous offences relating to drug trafficking," RCMP said in a press release.

Girard appeared in court and was released. His next court date is May 16.

Mennillo is still in custody. He's scheduled to appear in court on Monday in Yellowknife.
