Nunavut's hockey star JordinTootoo is returning to the Detroit Red Wings after he was sent down to their minor league team last month.

The Red Wings announced Wednesday they had recalled Tootoo, who plays right wing.

Tootoo, 30, played 12 games during his month with the AHL's Grand Rapid Griffins.

Tootoo's mom, Rose says he will suit up Thursday for a game against the Calgary Flames in Detroit.

Tootoo is in his second season of a three-year contract with the Red Wings.
