Det'on Cho Logistics will be responsible for getting employees of Diavik Diamond Mine from Edmonton to and from the mine as of April 1.
The partnership is being described as a "long term" contract between Diavik and the Yellowknives Dene-owned company.
"In the logistics business, what we do is we organize,"said Matt Mossman of Det'on Cho. "We will be organizing the air carriers to meet the needs of Diavik on a daily basis."
Doug Ashbury, spokesperson for Diavik, said Det'on Cho will at first work with First Air, and then Summit Air later on in the year.
Half of the people working at Diavik Diamond Mine live in the south and need to be flown to the remote location from Edmonton.
