Charges laid in worker's fall at N.W.T. hydro site
WSCC lays 14 charges in scaffolding construction and maintenance
The Workers’ Safety and Compensation Commission has laid 14 charges related to the fall of a construction worker at the Northwest Territories Power Corporation Bluefish Hydro site in May 2012.
The WSCC says an employee of North American Construction Ltd. was seriously injured after falling from a height.
North American Construction Ltd.; supervisor Dave Magnuson; and Chris Labelle, the individual responsible for inspecting scaffolding are facing charges, under the territory's Safety Act and General Safety Regulations for failing to ensure scaffolding was properly built and maintained.
The first court appearance is scheduled for June 4 in Yellowknife.
