Police say there will be no autopsy in the case of a sudden death yesterday in Cambridge Bay, Nunavut.

A man was pronounced dead after being found unconscious outdoors in -20 C temperatures.

Cambridge Bay RCMP said they received a report Wednesday morning around 9:15 a.m. of an unconscious man lying outside a home in the community.

Police started CPR and transported the man to the health centre. Health centre staff continued to try and revive the man but were unsuccessful.

The coroner was contacted and the investigation is continuing. Police said alcohol is believed to have been a factor in the death.
