Weather is hampering the search for a 24-year-old hunter from Rankin Inlet who failed to return from a caribou hunt on Friday.
Paul Pissuk, the man's father, says his son has been hunting since he was 10 years old.
"When we found tracks [Sunday], it looked like he caught a caribou; we could see someone skinned caribou," he said.
A blizzard is in the forecast for Rankin Inlet Monday. The temperature is expected to be -33C, with winds gusting up to 70 km/h and an extreme windchill of -56C.
Pissuk said his son should be able to make an igloo because he has a snow knife with him.
Pissuk said he had to return home from the search because of the current blizzard conditions in the area. He said he appreciates the help he has been getting from searchers in Rankin Inlet, Chesterfield Inlet and Whale Cove.
