B.C. youth facing handgun charges in Yellowknife gets bail
A youth charged in connection with a handgun incident outside a Yellowknife bar has been released on bail.
The 17-year-old is facing four weapons charges and one charge of trafficking cocaine, as is his co-accused, 21-year-old Joshua Petten.
Both are from British Columbia.
Police say that on March 10, Petten pointed a loaded handgun at a person outside the Raven Pub on 50 Street. Petten is still in jail.
Under the terms of his release, the youth must live under house arrest in his home community of Aldergrove, B.C. His mother and a family friend posted $3,500 bail.
The youth is due back in court on Monday.
Petten's next court appearance is May 21.
