An Arviat, Nunavut, man is grabbing attention by taking up an extreme sport.

Kelly Owlijoot is one of the first Inuit to do what’s called powered paragliding. It's an adventure sport which involves paragliding with a motor on your back to get lift.

Owlijoot said it's a different feeling when you first start flying.

"On the second day my mouth was dry because I was so nervous and scared at the same time. The first 10 tries I was nervous, but after that I started getting used to the flying and had fun with it," he said.

Owlijoot went to St. Catherine's, Ont., to take a course on the sport. He flies around Arviat when the wind is less than 15 kilometers per hour.
