Arsonist died in Iqaluit townhouse fire, say RCMP

RCMP say a fire that killed two people at the Creekside Village in Iqaluit in 2012 was arson.

RCMP say a fire that killed two people at the Creekside Village in Iqaluit in 2012 was arson.

The fire destroyed 22 units and left dozens of people homeless.

"The joint investigation between the RCMP and the Fire Marshal's Office has been completed," said Yvonne Niego, who speaks for RCMP V Division.

RCMP say the person who set the fire died in the blaze.

The investigation is now closed.
