A child care worker alleging sexual harassment in the workplace says she never intended to shut down her employer's business.

Willow Lacosse gave that testimony to a Yukon Human Rights Tribunal, Tuesday, in Whitehorse. Lacosse and co-worker Jessica Dyck allege they were sexually harassed by a male director at the daycare.

Lacosse said she endured the conduct initially because, as a single mother, she desperately needed the job. She said that when she complained, she was fired.

Lacosse said she later filed additional complaints to authorities at Yukon Child Services.

The day care, Childhood Discoveries, is no longer in business. Owner and operator Christina Hassard has been charged for condoning the conduct.

Hassard will tell her side of the story as the hearing continues.
