An individual was found unconscious and later died at the local health centre. Police have not released the name of the deceased.
"Yesterday via video-conference, two individuals were charged with first degree murder, conspiracy and attempted murder," said Sgt. Marc Tessier with the Sûreté du Québec in Kuujjuaq.
Tessier said 19-year-old Jamie Etook and a 17-year-old male youth will remain in custody. The youth cannot be named under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
