2 charged in Inuvik, N.W.T., arson cases
Police still looking for more information about other fires
Two men from Inuvik, N.W.T., have been charged in relation to two separate arson incidents in the town.
On July 20 and July 22, fires were set to row houses on Inuit Road.
Michael Patrick McLaughlin, 49, was taken into custody near the scene of one of the fires, which was on July 22. He has been charged with arson in both cases.
John Wayne Kiktorak, 47, was arrested and charged with break and enter with intent to commit arson, and attempted arson.
Three other fires in the Inuvik area are under investigation. The Inuvik RCMP are asking for the public’s help in solving a fire which was set to a vehicle on July 10, and a fire set behind a housing unit on Kugmallit Road on July 23.
