RCMP in Aklavik, N.W.T., have charged two men in connection with a series of break-ins in the community.
Last week, police responded to a call about a break-in at the David Buck Storr building. They found two men in an upstairs room attempting to pry open a safe.
Fred Price Gordon, 25, and Thomas Richard Gordon, 22, have been charged with breaking into the Storr building. They have also been charged with breaking into the Aklavik Housing Association Office, the hamlet office, the income support office, the Energy and Natural Resources office and the Indian Band office.
Police say there was significant damage to each office as a result of the break-ins.
Both men appeared in court on Oct. 4 and are in custody pending their next court appearance.
