A driver who was trying to pass another vehicle on the Trans-Canada Highway on Monday wound up losing control, rolling over and landing in the opposite lane with oncoming traffic rushing by.
RCMP said the incident happened around 5 p.m. when the westbound driver attempted a pass near the Holyrood access road.
The man lost control of his sedan, struck the other car and rolled. His vehicle crossed the median and came to a rest in the east-bound lanes, which were closed for more than two hours as crews cleaned up debris.
The driver was injured, but RCMP said his life was not at risk.
The driver of the second vehicle was not injured, although the vehicle sustained some damage.
