Woman charged with mugging man in downtown St. John's

A 38-year-old woman is facing charges of robbery with violence following an incident in St. John's Tuesday evening.

A woman spent the night in jail for allegedly mugging a man in St. John's Tuesday night. 

The incident occurred about 9:45 p.m. in the city's downtown.  

The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary says the 38-year-old got into a confrontation with a man.

The woman was arrested for robbery with violence.

She is scheduled to appear in court Wednesday morning.
