A woman, 24, has been charged with theft after money collected for veterans was stolen from a store in Mount Pearl.
Police say the woman is connected to a poppy can theft on Nov. 8 at Marie's Mini Mart on Commonwealth Ave.
The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary said the theft is not connected to other recent thefts of poppy cans in the St. John's area that resulted in charges being laid against a man.
Ryan Wight, 29, was in court in St. John's Thursday to set a date for his next appearance. He is scheduled to return to court on Dec.1.
The RNC said its officers are trying to locate a third man who they believe also took poppy cans.
Police said they have received dozens of reports of poppy can thefts in the St. John's area during November, but they are unable to say how much money was taken.
