Police are looking for the public's help in solving a pedestrian hit and run at the largest shopping mall in Newfoundland and Labrador.

The incident happened at the Avalon Mall parking lot around 6:10 p.m. on Jan. 16, the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary said.

A woman was hit by a black sedan when she was at a crosswalk near the Winners entrance of the mall.

The RNC said the vehicle was described as a Honda or a Toyota.

Police said the sedan's front hood likely sustained damage from the collision.

The RNC said people who may have seen the incident should call the force directly at 729-8000 or the anonymous Crime Stoppers service at 1-800-222-8477.
