Weapon-wielding duo arrested in Corner Brook
The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary arrested two people carrying weapons after receiving reports of suspicious activity in Corner Brook Monday night.
Police were called to the Ultramar on West Street shortly before midnight.
The pair had been calling a taxi and were waiting outside the business when the RNC arrived on scene.
Police charged a boy, 16, with possession of a weapon — a knife — for a dangerous purpose.
A man, 34, was charged with possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, assaulting a police officer and failing to comply with a court order.
The RNC said the man had an aluminum bat, and kicked an officer in the chest during the arrest.
The teenager was released, but the man is being held in police custody.
