Officials opened town centres and fire halls across Newfoundland Saturday to help bring relief to people caught in both a massive power outage and a cold snap. 

Here is a list of centres that had opened by early Saturday evening. Please consult our Storm Centre for more details. 

St. John's: Foran Room at City Hall. Free parking at city hall parking garage.

St. John's: Memorial University has opened a warming centre at the gym in the Phys Ed building. 

Mount Pearl: Reid Community Centre.

Paradise: Rotary Paradise Youth and Community Centre.

Conception Bay South: West End Fire Hall. Mayor Ken MacDonald says if you need a lift to the town's warming centre, please call 746-0869. 

Carbonear: Carbonear swimming pool, multipurpose room.

Heart's Content: Recreation Centre, tea and sandwiches available.

Torbay: Fire hall, next to the town hall.

Holyrood: Town hall on Salmonier Line.

Pouch Cove: Fire hall.

Town of Deer Lake: Elwood High.

Heart's Delight-Islington: Town hall.

Bay de Verde: Town hall.

Bay Roberts: Fire hall and Avalon Wolverines SAR Centre. 

Trinity Bay North: Fire halls in Catalina and Little Catalina. Call 469-2424.
