Jason Daniel Earle is pictured in a police photograph released Sunday, after he escaped during what police describe as a prisoner transfer.

Police in St. John's are looking for an 18-year-old escaped prisoner.

In a release issued Sunday, the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary said they were called to the Parade Street area shortly before 10 a.m. Saturday after Jason Daniel Earle escaped "during a prisoner transfer."

Earle ran from the area on foot, and was last seen running down Cookstown Road.

Police are advising anyone who sees Earle not to approach him but to call the RNC.

Earle is described as five-foot-ten, weighing about 150 pounds, with brown eyes and short black hair. Earle has two teardrop tattoos under his right eye.

At the time of the escape, Earle was wearing black sneakers, black nylon track pants with a white stripe and a grey sweatshirt.
