Sunday - The Writers’ Alliance Spring Tides Reading Series, with readings from Claire Wilkshire and Caighlan Smith. The readings take place at Five Island Gallery in Tors Cove, starting at 2 p.m.

Sunday - Fourth annual Whale Festival, with kids' activities, art displays, whale watching and more. Cape Spear Lighthouse National Historic Site and Petty Harbour Mini Aquarium are the venues. 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
