WAM Picks: A busy weekend for book lovers, dancing fools

Weekend entertainment for all ages

Friday, Saturday and Sunday - Rabbit, Rabbit, a play for mature audiences. At the Guv'nor Inn at 8 p.m., with a 2 p.m. matinée on Sunday.​

Friday - Book launch for Wow Wow and Haw Haw, the first book for children by poet George Murray and artist Michael Pittman. The Leyton Gallery of Fine Art, 7-9 p.m.

Saturday - May We Have This Dance? A dance fair for kids, featuring family-friendly workshops and displays by dance schools and companies. Gower Street United Church, between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.

Saturday - Kid's launch for Wow Wow and Haw Haw. Chapters on Kenmount Road, 10 a.m.

Saturday - First Look: Local dance artists showcase choreographic works-in-progress and discuss creative ideas. Presented by Neighbourhood Dance Works and ending with a Barefoot Boogie in celebration of Dance Week. It all takes place at the St. John's Arts and Culture Centre beginning at 7:30 p.m.

Sunday - Book launch for Pouch Cove: Our Home by the Sea, an illustrated history of the communities of Pouch Cove, Shoe Cove and Biscayan Cove. All Saints Anglican Church Hall in Pouch Cove at 2 p.m.

Sunday - "A Spring Time," a fundraising concert for the Suzuki Talent Education Program, featuring the program's young violinists and cellists. Guests are Katie Baggs, Brian Cherwick and Dave Penney. Cochrane Street United Church, from 3-5 p.m.
