Victim hospitalized after St. John's assault
Police said a man was being treated in a St. John's hospital Monday after being assaulted with an unspecified weapon overnight.
The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary said the assault happened on Goodview Street, in the city's downtown area.
The man, 30, sustained what police described as "non-life-threatening" injuries.
The RNC's major crime unit is investigating the incident, and officers hope to be able to speak to the victim later Monday.
Police are waiting to interview the man before they release what type of weapon was used in the assault.
