Ferry crews and passengers all over Newfoundland and Labrador and Atlantic Canada say the water seems clear enough near the shore, but head further out and it's nothing but ice as far as the eye can see.

Crews are dealing with some of the worst ice conditions on the Atlantic Ocean in decades.

Crossings have become difficult for ferries, even those getting some help from ice breakers.

People trying to cross the water have been given warnings ahead of time about the possibility of icy conditions, and things could be getting worse before they get any better.
