Two charged with impaired driving on northeast Avalon

A two-vehicle collision in Pouch Cove led to a number of charges, including impaired driving and uttering threats against a police officer. The 51-year-old driver was also charged with driving while prohibited and refusing the breathalyzer.
The driver of the other vehicle was taken to hospital with what were believed to be non-life-threatening injuries.
The accused was jailed pending a court appearance on Friday.
Meanwhile, a second man was charged with impaired driving on Portugal Cove Road in the Town of Portugal Cove-St. Philip's on Thursday evening.
