Trial begins for accused peeping Tom
Nigerian man also charged with sexual assault at St. John's hospital
The trial for a man accused of a sexual assault at the Health Sciences Centre in St. John's began in provincial court on Wednesday.
Elijah George, 21, is also accused of assault and voyeurism.
The offences are said to have happened in May, while George was a patient on the hospital's psychiatric ward.
It's alleged that George looked under and over a stall while a nurse was using the washroom.
In court on Wednesday, there were times when the accused broke out in laughter.
George is from Nigeria, and had been studying engineering at Memorial University.
