Toronto Maple Leafs van a hit with St. John's hockey fans
A van decked out in Toronto Maple Leafs colours and decorations is attracting the attention of hockey fans all over the St. John's area.
The van belongs to Doug King, a longtime Leafs fan, and it was painted by King's buddies at Strickland's Auto Body in Shea Heights.
King said he got his van rigged out in celebration of the Leafs making the playoffs, and he said it has been a big hit with his daughter's friends at St. John Bosco School.
"When I went to pick up my daughter, all the kids came out with their jerseys and wanted to get their pictures by it," said King. "Even some of the teachers came out."
"Even Montreal fans."
King had a car painted and decorated in white and blue in 2004, the last time the Leafs made the playoffs.
This time, King said he is convinced that the Toronto Maple Leafs will win their series against the Boston Bruins.
"It might be six or seven games, but who cares, the longer they wins, the longer I'll have that van out," said King.
