Tom Marshall rules out running in next election
Finance Minister Tom Marshall has confirmed that his latest term in office will be his last.
The MHA for Humber East confirmed on the CBC's West Coast Morning Show Friday rumours that he won't be running in the next election.
"I've been the member for nine years. I'm very grateful to have had the opportunity to be in public life, but at some point, of course, you have to bring it to an end," he said.
Marshall grew up in Corner Brook. He completed a business degree, and became a lawyer in 1972.
He was first elected in 2003, and has held several portfolios, including justice and intergovernmental affairs.
His term ends in 2015.
