The RCMP says calls from the public led to the arrest of a suspected impaired driver on Wednesday evening.
Two people contacted the police to report an erratic driver on the Trans-Canada Highway just before 6 p.m.
Officers responded and stopped the vehicle a few kilometres east of Clarenville.
The 38-year-old male driver was charged with impaired driving while under the influence of a drug.
RCMP said toxicology tests would be conducted to determine what drug may have been used.
