A knife was used during an armed robbery at a convenience store near downtown St. John's on Sunday. 

The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary said a man used the weapon while forcing a clerk at a Hamilton Avenue store to turn over an undisclosed amount of cash. 

No one was hurt during the incident, which occurred around 5:30 p.m. 

The thief fled from the scene on foot. 

No arrests have yet been made.
