A tender for work on a new high school in the west end of St. John's has been awarded by the provincial government.
The contract to break ground across from the Village Mall on Topsail Road is worth approximately $3.6 million.
This new high school will accommodate about 860 students and will replace both Bishops College and Booth Memorial.
Work will be carried out by Weir's Construction Company in Conception Bay South.
Construction on the new school is expected to be completed by December 2014.
