Teens charged with arson in Sheshatshiu

RCMP said a mattress had been intentionally set on fire in a youth treatment centre Wednesday night.

Four teenagers in Sheshatshiu have been charged with arson.

RCMP said there was a small fire on Wednesday night at the Charles J Andrew Youth Treatment Centre in the community.

Police said a mattress in one of the bedrooms was intentionally set on fire.

Fire crews from Sheshatshiu and North West River responded, however the sprinkler system in the building had already extinguished the fire.

The teens, who range in age from 13 to 16, are expected to appear for a bail hearing in provincial court on Thursday.
