The RCMP in Happy Valley-Goose Bay arrested two teenagers Wednesday after shots were fired near Mealy Mountain Collegiate Monday night.

Three women said they heard bullets fly past them to hit the building while they were walking past the school.

According to the RCMP, two teenage male suspects, 16 and 17, are facing charges of careless use of a firearm.

The same charge is pending against an 18-year-old.

Police said the four holes in the side of the school were likely made by .22 calibre bullets.

The teenagers were released into the custody of their parents, pending court appearances.

The RCMP said tips from the public went a long way toward making the arrests.
