Teenaged ATV driver faces slew of offences
The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary in Corner Brook charged two teenagers after they were caught driving an all-terrain vehicle in the city.
Police said the pair were reported to be driving an ATV in the Killick Place area shortly before midnight on Friday.
The RNC caught up with the teens on Main Street in Mount Moriah, where they charged the 17-year-old driver.
The young man, from Benoit's Cove, was charged with operating an ATV with a passenger, operating the vehicle on the highway, driving an ATV under the age of 19 without insurance, driving without a licence and driving without valid registration. He was also charged with operating the vehicle without a helmet and adequate lights.
The passenger, 16, was arrested for under-age drinking. He was later turned over to his parents.
Police said the four-wheeler was seized and impounded.
