The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary's explosives disposal unit was called out to two residences in St. John's on Wednesday, after the home owners found suspicious packages in their yards.
The unit first checked out a package in the yard of a home in the central part of the city. Then it was called away and redeployed to the east end where another suspicious package was reported.
Police said both packages were examined and determined to not be explosive or dangerous in nature.
The items were held by the RNC, although police have not said what's contained in the two packages.
