Police are looking for a man who they believe was about to hold up a store in St. John's  but changed his mind.

The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary has released a short video of the incident that took place on June 28.

It shows a hooded man, with his face covered, approaching and entering the Marie's Mini Mart on Crosbie Road just before 3 p.m.

But as soon as the man enters the store, he quickly turns around and leaves.

Police say they suspect he was spooked by the number of customers in the store.

The man is described as in his 20s, about 6 feet tall, with medium build.

He was wearing a dark-coloured winter jacket, dark pants, and he had a cloth over the lower part of his face.
