Suspect charged after St. John's assault

A man is being charged with attacking two women on a residential street near downtown St. John's Thursday evening.

A man is being charged with attacking two women on a residential street near downtown St. John's Thursday evening.

The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary was called around 7:30 p.m. to Leslie Street, where two women had been physically assaulted by a man.

Paramedics responded to the scene, but police say the women didn't need medical attention.

The man was taken into custody on charges that include assault with a weapon, uttering threats and damaging property.

He is expected to appear in court on Friday.
