A family in Paradise, N.L. is assessing the damage after a street cleaner veered off the road, careened across the lawn and smashed into the front of their bungalow.

"It sounded like, psshhht!" said neighbour Ryan Reardon.

"The glass broke and some of the siding of the house came off and the patio broke."

The cab of the truck was wedged into the front of the home, and a tow truck was called to haul it out. There has been no word on a cause or injuries in the incident.

Reardon, 7, and his brother Connor ran over to a nearby house to watch as the action unfolded.

"I was kinda sad 'cause it's my favourite house on the road," sighed Reardon.
