The fifth and final young offender who was charged in connection with the attack and robbery of a disabled man in Mount Pearl last fall has changed his plea to guilty.

The boy, 16, previously had pleaded not guilty, and was supposed to have a trial on Monday morning.

He instead pleaded guilty to robbery, and conspiracy to commit robbery.

The Crown has conditionally withdrawn a charge of assault causing bodily harm.

The boy was part of a group that lured the disabled man to a wooded area near Mount Pearl Square in September. He was then assaulted and robbed of his phone, wallet, and jewelry, worth about $1,000 in total.

The teen will be sentenced in May.
