A couple of parents got out of hand during a pee wee hockey tournament this past weekend in Grand Falls-Windsor.
Police were called to the Windsor arena on Saturday during a game between teams from St. John's and Deer Lake.
RCMP say witnesses told them a fight broke out between two men in the stands.
By the time officers arrived at the arena, the two men had disappeared into the crowd.
Craig Tulk, the executive director of Hockey Newfoundland and Labrador, said the organization will be taking action once the final police report is filed.
"We take it very serious. I mean, very rarely do we have incidents of this type, and we have a mechanism within our association to investigate and deal with those parents appropriately," Tulk said.
RCMP said they are waiting to see surveillance tapes from the arena to determine exactly what happened.
