Steven Neville, who was found guilty of second-degree murder and attempted murder earlier this month, will have a sentencing hearing on March 5.
A jury convicted Neville, 22, of killing Doug Flynn, 19, on a suburban street in Paradise in October 2010.
Neville was also convicted of trying to kill Ryan Dwyer.
The jury had heard that Neville and others were low-level players in the drug trade in the St. John's area, and that animosity between Neville and the stabbing victims had escalated in the hours before their violent confrontation.
Neville is facing a minimum sentence of 10 years in prison before being eligible for parole. The jury in his case declined to give a recommendation on what sentence Neville should receive.
One of Neville's lawyers has said that the defence will likely file an appeal in the case.
