Hydro demands met through storm

Newfoundland and Labrador Hydro said the generation supply on the island on Saturday met customer demand during peak hours in the evening.
Hydro requested that customers try to conserve power Saturday night, as a precautionary measure.
The combination of extreme weather and one of three generating units being out of commission made the utility wary.
A Hydro spokesperson said conservation measures are no longer necessary.
