Newfoundlandland and Labrador Hydro is looking at finding alternate supplies of power for the community of Nain - and that's something AngajukKâk Tony Anderson is happy to hear.
Hydro officials met with residents in the isolated community last week to talk about continuing problems with their diesel generators.
Anderson said they were told the utility is looking into other sources.
"They finally now, this spring, will set up a tower here in Nain to do some wind studies," said Anderson. "They've looked at some rivers .. I guess that may be able to be used for hydro for small hydro projects in Makkovik and Hopedale."
Meanwhile, Anderson said people on the north coast are still hoping to benefit from the power created by Muskrat Falls.
