Divers join search for missing duck hunter

RCMP divers joined the effort Wednesday to find a duck hunter missing in western Newfoundland.
The hunter, 50, left his home in the Port au Port Peninsula community of West Bay early Monday morning.
Barry Nash, who works with the Barachois search and rescue team, said local people found the man's snowmobile before the official search began.
Nash said the police divers would be focusing their efforts in that area.
"In speaking to the locals, they seem to figure that he must have shot something near the shore and tried to retrieve it," he told CBC News. "They saw tracks that led towards the shore."
Nash said the local search and rescue teams would also continue to search for the man today.
The search for the hunter reached the floor of the House of Commons on Tuesday, where Liberal MP Judy Foote chided the governing Conservatives over a phone message at the Halifax-based Joint Rescue Co-ordination Centre that mistakenly referred to the Port au Port Peninsula as Port-au-Prince, the capital of Haiti.
