Provincial court offices in downtown St. John's have passed another test for bed bugs.

Chief judge Mark Pike says a number of areas got the all-clear from exterminators Wednesday.

They include a Legal Aid office, holding cells, the police liaison office and space used by Special Prosecutions staff.

An inspection carried out late last week also found no evidence of bed bugs.

A single bed bug was first discovered at the courts on the fourth floor of Atlantic Place last October.

More of the parasites, along with their eggs and feces, were found in mid-December. That led to full fumigation of the courts shortly before Christmas.

Pike says another inspection will take place Feb. 6.
