Julian Squires, who had been arrested at Her Majesty's Penitentiary where he was serving time breaching the terms of his probation, was returned to remand after being charged for a mugging in Cowan Heights earlier this month.

Amanda Murphy was granted bail in the case.

It's alleged that Squires and Murphy responded to an ad posted on a website by someone trying to sell a necklace.

Police accuse Squires and Murphy of robbing the seller and a friend who came along for the transaction.

The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary also said Squires and Murphy had a club and a knife, but so far weapons charges have not been laid.
