The National Human Library Day event will be held Saturday afternoon at the St. John's Arts and Culture Centre.

CBC, in partnership with local libraries, is hosting the event from 1 to 5 p.m.

National Human Library Day is a one-day event aimed to help dispel myths and stereotypes by creating a chance for one-on-one conversations between people who would likely not meet otherwise.

The public is invited to stop by the Arts and Culture Centre and take part in the first event of its kind in St. John's.

There will be a variety of "books" to meet, including adventurer T.A. Loeffler, female to male transgender James Moriarty, funeral director Geoff Carnell, and Muslim student Kaif Khan.

CBC's Anthony Germain, Azzo Rezori and Jane Adey are also volunteering to be human "books."
