A driver picked the wrong car to rear-end in St. John's on Thursday afternoon.

He hit an unmarked police car on Cornwall Avenue in the west end and kept on going.

The officers in the car followed him downtown and arrested him when he finally stopped.

On top of the hit and run charge, the 35-year-old did not have a licence and his car was not registered or insured.

He's also been charged with two breaches of court orders.

The RNC vehicle had only minor damage and the two officers were not injured.
