Have stolen fire truck, will travel

RCMP in Sheshatshiu are investigating an unusual theft.
Police received a report at 12:30 on Wednesday morning that a fire truck was stolen from the community's fire hall.
Officers found the truck being driven on Tsheniss Drive by an off-duty firefighter. He was stopped by police but fled on foot. The man, 28, was apprehened a few minutes later and arrested.
The firefighter is facing charges of impaired driving, theft of a motor vehicle, resisting arrest and driving without a valid licence. He is scheduled to appear in provincial court in Happy Valley-Goose Bay on February 27.
The fire truck was not damaged.
