An oil truck went out of control and overturned in Upper Island Cove, Tuesday after a driver lost control in the Conception Bay community.

The driver was going down a small hill on Noel's Road when he lost control of the truck, which went through a guardrail and down a bank.

While the truck was carrying about 6,000 litres of furnace oil at the time, only a small leak was reported.

The RCMP said the local fire department cleaned up the spilled oil.

The driver was treated at hospital in Carbonear for minor injuries.
